This guide will teach you how to create your own advanced functi= ons and use them in reports.
Advanced functions allow you to perform operations on top of repor= t data after the primary SQL query has been run, unlike a calculated field,= which is added to the report=E2=80=99s SQL statement. Functions can range = from simple mathematical calculations and text manipulation, to more comple= x API calls with user input parameters.
This guide is broken into the following sections:
B= asics: The basic process of creating a custom advanced functio= n for Yellowfin reports. Start here if you are new to coding Yellowfin plug= -ins.
Advanced function creation: The core methods required to cod= e the function.
Para= meter set up: Provide user input parameters such as radio butt= ons and drop down menus.
Dependent parameter display: Create dynamic interfaces b= y expanding upon the basic user input parameters.
D= ata access and modification: Use values from other columns, th= en return a customized result set.
